The right of public access in Sweden

Sweden's nature is open to everyone thanks to the right of public access. This means that you can stay without worries in most nature areas, even in privately owned forest and land.

The key words "do not disturb, do not destroy" sum up the right of public access well.

WHAT IS THE RIGHT OF COMMONITY?
Our Swedish right of public access is fantastic. It makes it free to hike, bike, canoe, pick berries and camp almost anywhere you want. Of course, it is important to show consideration for landowners, animals, nature and other people. There are certain restrictions on the right of public access, for example when you are in sensitive environments and close to private homes. But in most places you can stay completely unhindered in nature. It is unique to Sweden and a few other countries. The right of public access is thus very important for everyone's opportunity to experience nature.

Leave behind only thankfulness and nothing else!
